    a. Mickael: "Steven, I am writing my essay about segregation, I can't go to the cinema."

    Mickael told Steven that he was writing his essay about segregartion and that he couldn't go to the cinema.

    b. Max: "Can I find books about Rosa Parks here?”

    Max asked if he could find books about Rosa Parks there.

    c The teacher: "I talked about Emmeline Pankhurst yesterday in class."

    The teacher said that she/he had talked about Emmeline Pankhurst the day before in class.

    d. Kate: "Paul, I'm meeting reporters tomorrow."

    Kate told Paul (that ) he was meeting reporters the next day.

    e. Peter: "How many protests did they organize?"

    Peter asked how  many protests they had organised.

    ( Peter a demandé combien de manifestations ils avaient organisées )

    Peter asked them how many protests they had organised.

    ( Peter leur a demandé combien de manifestations ils avaient organisées )

    Explications :

    Pour passer du discours direct au discours indirect : (  rappels )

    - Utiliser un verbe pour introduire le discours indirect ( ask; say; tell ..)

    ==> Ici, on rapporte des parloles passées, le verbe introducteur sera donc au

    prétérit ( asked; said ...) = a dit, a demandé ..

    - Ne pas oublier de changer certains pronoms

    - yesterday devient the day before/ the previous day

    - tomorrow devient the next day / the following day

    - here devient there

    - Ne pas oublier la concordance des temps

    Le présent simple du Discours Direct devient Prétérit simple au Discours

    Indirect

    Le présent « be » + V-ing du Discours Direct devient prétérit « be » + V-ing

    au Discours Indirect

    Le prétérit du Discours Direct devient past perfect au Discours Indirect
